Dead End

Thrift stores yielded some decent material but I needed more variety. Then I discovered Ebay. I bought some great vintage lanterns and flashlights to use as heads and arms along with some other cool items. Unfortunately, the Ebay stuff just didn’t match up very well with the thrift store finds. That lead me to a thought: I would build wooden boxes to which I could attach the vintage objects. How hard could that be? Harder than I thought, actually. Well, time consuming mostly, but I did stick with it until I had built 4 or 5 of the boxes leading to only 2 finished pieces. It became abundantly clear that this approach would be impractical. I began to lose interest and soon my robot parts were collecting dust. About 7 years worth of it, in fact.
